Myth-Beach House

Two years after their latest album “Teen Dream”, Baltimore band Beach House is back again with a new song “Myth”, from their upcoming album “Bloom” (due in May). “Myth” doesn’t depart from Beach House’s signature sound, though that’s a good thing! Like many of their previous songs, “Myth” starts with a basic drum beat, that slowly becomes more layered, being the glue to keep the song together. Though the rhythm gives the song weight, it is the reverb drenched sounds coming Alex Scally’s guitar and Victoria Legrand’s vocals, that paint a spacious and airy landscape. This solid combination of drums, vocals, guitar and synth not only creates a perfect balance to the arrangement, but gives the song a variety of ear-pleasing sounds. From the arrangement to the many melodic hooks throughout the song, “Myth” is sure to be a future fan favorite. If this song is any indication of how “Bloom” will be, Beach House already has a good chance of being in the top lists of 2012.
